Safety of the Scroll

by OrthaeVelve

Blesses an important document and helps ensure it's safe arrival to it's intended recipient.

An exact copy of the document is made on the finest parchment, using ink made with the caster's blood. To the ink should be added the ashes of any bird that migrates south for the winter and ash from the burning of dragonsblood. The document is sealed with sealing wax and the unset wax isimprinted with the caster's personal seal. Within the sealed document are placed a feather from a migratory bird (which must not be killed for the taking of it's feathers) a fragment of aventurine and several hairs from a dog which is friendly with the caster. A prayer to either the Elementals of Air or the Archangel of the East must now be said, and the document and it's copy fumigated with incense made from air element plants (such as anise, benzoin, caraway, chicory, dandelion, eyebright, fenugreek, goldenrod, lavender, lemongrass, lemon verbena, marjoram, meadowsweet, mint, mulberry, parsley, pine, sage, slippery elm or star anise). Finally, the original is sent. When it arrives safely, the sealed copy is burned and it's ashes scattered in running water.
