WorldVeil (General, House Eclipse)

A concept of magic used frequently in Eclipsan lore that states that the world contains much less magic than it did at one point. Essentially, the idea that at one point the common view of magic being instantly acting and monsters and supernatural creatures directly existing in this world was true. However, some occurrence (to many, the fall of the mythological city of Atlantis) caused a sort of supernatural barrier to fall and wall out most magical and paranormal creatures. Thus, the souls of beings such as elves, fae, dragons and vampires were incarnated into human bodies or stay in the astral, the gods stopped being able to directly manifest and intervene in people's lives, and magic became less of an instant results system for making changes in the material world and more of a back door for manipulating the flow of events and such. Believers in the world veil believe that haunted houses and such are areas where the worldveil thins, and it is easier to do magic and manifest the paranormal in the physical world.
Many OtherKin dedicate themselves to finding ways around or through the worldveil so that we can once again become the creatures legend states we were and gain the abilities of legend. Others believe this would cause catastrophe and turmoil and try to guard the veil and upkeep it. Whatever a vampire believes and however they act, most agree that the Veil started to become active around 1500 bce and grew gradually from then. It did not instantly come into place but grew very subtly and slowly until it's present incarnation was reached around 1500 ce. Some also believe that the veil is weakening in the modern era due to the renewed love for and belief in the mystical and paranormal, and that the rise of OtherKin is a direct result of this.

Wannabe (slang, Sanguinarius)

Slang term, a contraction of the words "wants to be". Derogatory term for someone who wants to become a vampire, usually with unrealistic expectations of what it would be like. Most wannabes have a very romanticized vision of vampirism, and they seem to think it would improve their lives somehow or make them more interesting. Many are attracted by a false vision of a vampire’s powers. They usually fail to look at the practical side of becoming a vampire, such as necessary changes in lifestyle, finding sources to feed from, and trying to hold a job while balancing one’s vampiric nature with daily life.

Warrior* (general, House Kheperu, Sanguinarium)

Also known as Mradu or Equites (a Greek term used to designate Alexander’s elite forces). In the vampiric caste and road system created by House Kheperu and adopted by the OSV, the Warriors are those entrusted with the safety of the community. Strongarms and guardsmen, Warriors protect both Concubines and Priests. They also help to enforce the 13 Rules of Community, also known as The Black Veil. A well-trained Warrior completes the triumvirate of power between a Concubine and a Priest. A Warrior is commonly a good friend of both members of the Priest-Concubine pair, occasionally a lover of one or both of them, who provides protection, back-up, and additional energy and support in any magical workings. *See also Caste System, Mradu, Concubine, and Priest.

Werewolf: (general, Illuminatti)

In the Illuminatti system, the product or descendant of a human and wolf coupling between a Child of Lilith in legend and her guardian wolf. According to this legend the product was the first werewolf from whom all others were descended. The werewolf may or may not shapeshift.

White Swan (formal, Sanguinarium)

In the OSV systemomeone who cannot tolerate the Vampire community and proves antagonistic to it's members. In general, White Swans are still a part of the Gothic or fetish scene, which often brings them into contact with the vampire community despite their dislike for vampires or vampiric culture. An alternate term is Eophan in the Eclipsan system.
